Parade's End

“Parade’s End”, a five-part adaptation of Ford Madox Ford’s great novel is a co-production of the BBC, HBO and Anchorage-Entertainment (Flanders, Belgium). It was broadcast by the VRT (Flemish television) in April 2013. The screenplay is by Tom Stoppard, the director was Susanna White, the excellent cast features Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall with Rupert Everett and Miranda Richardson in supporting roles. Part of Parade’s End was filmed in Flanders: the ‘Hôtel de la Poste’ and the field hospital scenes in Nieuwpoort, the base camp scenes in Veurne and Aalter, the Scottish hotel is in fact to be found near Antwerp, the Paris scenes were taken in Brussels, etc. The music is by the Flemish composer Dirk Brossé.
